I found this Recipe in a magazine back in high school home economics class and it was using cheeseburger macaroni Hamburger Helper and i fell in love with it. it is to die for in my book please no dressing thats just gross...this is a hot salad.

Ingredients

  • 1 box
    hamburger helper cheeseburger mac.
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 medium
    onion chopped
  • 1/3 c
    chili powder
  • 2 tsp
    ground cumin i always sprinkle till it smells like mexican food not sure if its acually 2 tsp.
  • ·
    sprinkle powdered garlic
  • 1/2
    head of lettuce shredded
  • 1 large
    tomato chopped
  • 1 can(s)
    black olives drained
  • 2 sprig(s)
    green onion chopped
  • 1 pkg
    nacho cheese doritoes
  • 1 pkg
    sour cream

How to Make Taco Salad MY Version

Step-by-Step

  1. follow direction on hamburger helper box but include once you have it altogether next 5 ingredients. Let simmer till pasta is cooked.
  2. while its cooking, shred lettuce and chop tomatoes and green onions, once helper has thickened add the tomatoes, green onions,and black olives to the pot and stir.
  3. to fix plate, lettuce on bottom, then doritoes on lettuce followed by helper mix top with sour cream. can use taco sauce if desired!
