taco pie
(1 RATING)
This was my late husband, Val's favorite dish, and it's also our daughter Marie's favorite recipe. This recipe was first made for us by a dear friend when I had surgery. Finally she gave us the recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 package pillsbury crescent rolls- original
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 package ortega taco seasoning
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup tortilla chips
- 8 ounces sour cream
- 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- - tomatoes (fresh)
- - iceberg lettuce
How To Make taco pie
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350. Press crescent rolls into a large pie pan and crimp edges to make the crust. Sprinkle crust with crushed tortilla chips. Brown ground beef, rinse and drain. Put meat back in skillet. Add taco seasoning and water. Simmer for 5 minutes.
-
Step 2Spread meat & sauce onto crust. Spread sour cream and cheese on top. Sprinkle with more crushed tortilla chips.* Taco pie can be prepared this far and then refrigerated until ready to bake. This does help pie to set up.
-
Step 3Bake in 350 oven for 40 minutes. Let pie set while chopping tomatoes and shredding lettuce. Serve with tomatoes and lettuce.
