I learned to make this easy dip when I was 18. It became a neighborhood favorite. My daughter, sisters and other friends make it as well. Hope you enjoy it!

Ingredients

  • 8-16 ounces sour cream
  • 8-16 ounces cream cheese
  • 1-2 package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 small tomatoe chopped
  • 1 - lettuce head chopped
  • 1 package cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make taco dip

  • Step 1
Use equal amounts of sour cream and cream cheese amount depending upon how many people you want to serve. Same with taco seasoning.
  • Step 2
Chop onion, tomatoe, and lettuce. Sit aside
  • Step 3
Blend sour cream and cream cheese in a bowl to a dip like consistancy. Whipped cream cheese is easier to work with. Add 1/2 taco seasoning and stir. Add 1/2 of onions and stir. Add shredded cheese being careful to leave some for top.
  • Step 4
Pour mixture into a pyrex dish or any oblong container (makes presentation prettier than a bowl). Top with lettuce, tomato, remaining onion, cheese and taco seasoning. Serve with tortilla chips
