This is an easy recipe way to make enchiladas for a new cook. It uses canned enchilada sauce or chili instead of homemade sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 - large can red or green enchilada sauce or chili con carne
  • 12 - corn tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded longhorn cheese or mexican blend cheese
  • 1 - onion, chopped
  • - shredded lettuce
  • 2 - roma tomatoes, diced
  • 4 - 6 - green onions, chopped
  • - sour cream, for garnish
  • - salsa and tortilla chips

How To Make stacked enchiladas for beginners

  • Step 1
    Heat enchilada sauce or chili thoroughly in a saucepan.
  • Step 2
    Place a spoonful of sauce on your heat-proof plate. Dip tortilla in sauce and lay flat on the sauce.
  • Step 3
    Ladle 1-2 tablespoons of sauce over the tortillas and sprinkle with cheese and chopped onion.
  • Step 4
    Repeat this process to form a stack of three for each serving.
  • Step 5
    Bake in 375° oven for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.
  • Step 6
    Garnish with lettuce, tomato and green onions.
  • Step 7
    Serve with sour cream, salsa and tortilla chips.
