Acapulco goes to Rome for a visit...the rest is history. The fusion of the two cities are a perfect marriage. This pizza is a spicy and sweet sensation! The crispy tortilla topped with a rich marinara sauce, whole milk mozzarella cheese, spicy beef chorizo, sweet jalapena peppers, roasted bell peppers strips with caramelized onions, kalamata olives, grilled sweet corn, a sprinklin' of black beans topped with a blend of fiesta cheeses and fresh torn basil...this is UMAMI! Ingredients

  • 4 medium tortillas, flour
  • 4 tablespoons marinara sauce
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 1 - chorizo tube (mexican sausage, spicy beef)
  • 1/4 cup mezzetta greek pitted kalamata olives
  • 1/4 cup mezzetta sweet & hot jalapena pepper rings
  • 1/4 cup mezzetta roasted bell pepper strips & caramelized onions
  • 1 - grilled sweet corn (ear cut off cobb)
  • 1/4 cup black beans
  • 4 ounces fiesta cheeses
  • 4-6 - basil, fresh (torn)

How To Make rome welcomes acapulco

  • Step 1
    in a heated skillet fry chorizo for 5-6 minutes. remove and drain oil
  • Step 2
    in a hot oiled skillet, grill corn for 5-6 minues. cut off cobb
  • Step 3
    preheat oven to 400 degrees. assemble pizza on an oven proof pan
  • Step 4
    baked pizzas for 10-12 minutes or until tortilla is crispy and the cheese has melted. top with fresh basil & enjoy!
