I LOVE Chimichangas, but dislike frying anything! These are easy and very good!

2/3 c
picante sauce or your favorite salsa
1 tsp
1/2 tsp
dried crushed oregano
1 1/2 c
cooked chicken-chopped
1 c
shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 c
chopped green onions (i've used regular before)
8" flour tortillas
2 Tbsp
margarine melted
additional cheese and salsa for topping as well as sour cream or whatever you desire

How to Make Oven "Fried" Chimichangas


  • 1Mix salsa, cumin, oregano, cooked chicken, cheese and onions.
  • 2Place about 1/4 cup of chicken mixture in the middle of each tortilla. Fold opposite sides over filling. Roll up from bottom and place seam side down on a baking sheet.
  • 3Brush with melted margarine
  • 4Bake at 400 for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown. I have also added black beans to the chicken mixture. Serve with salsa, cheese, sour cream, guacamole....whatever you like!
