Mex. Amer. Taco Salad

Trina Alaniz

This is an awesome salad that I especially like to use in summer. It is easy and delicious. This dish is a favorite of my family and is often requested. It is also an ideal dish for picnics, as long as the pouring of the dressing is suspended till prior to serving. It can also be served as the main dish, which is how I serve it. There are no precise ingredients (except for the meat) I buy the bagged shredded cheese' from Costco and estimate the balance of diced ingredients that will be needed in layering

blend well the following in a small bowl. the jar of la victoria salsa and the italian dressing.

in a large bowl start
first: place a layer of nacho cheese doritos.
second: a layer of meat mixture.
then chedder cheese, jack cheese, layer of diced tomatoes, diced avocados and sliced olives.

1Alternate your layers by starting first with the Doritos, meat etc. and ending with the tomatoes, avocados and olives, It makes a beautiful salad.
2DRESSING: You should start by adding 1/2 of dressing to 3/4 of salsa, you may want to adjust according to you taste of either one.
3When you are ready to serve onto you plates, pour your dressing mixture over the top the salad. DO NOT TOSS.
The dressing will drain down thru the salad.
4This a light, and delicious salad. It is fast, easy and filling. It is crunchy and the meat and other ingredients are very tasty. especially awesome in warm weather.
Don't forget to put a dollop of sour cream on top of each individual serving.
5When you make this for your family or guests, I am sure they will not resist to ask for a seconds. Enjoy
