You can easily make this vegetarian by leaving out the meat. You could add different cheeses or even bread and fry them.

jalapenos, fresh
8 oz
cream cheese
4-8 oz
jimmy dean hot breakfast sausage (depends on how meaty you want them)
2 Tbsp
parmesan cheese, grated

How to Make Meaty Jalapeno Poppers

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cut the end off the jalapenos then cut them in half lengthwise and remove the seeds & membranes. I wore disposable gloves to seed the jalapenos and to stuff them.
  • 2Mix cooked sausage, cream cheese and parmesean cheese together. stuff about 1T of the cream cheese mixture into each jalapeno half.
  • 3Freeze on a cookie sheet before baking or movingto freezer containers
  • 4Bake from a frozen state at 350 for about 15-20 minutes or until done.
  • 5NOTE: These are really awesome wrapped in a 1/2 piece of bacon secured with a toothpick and grilled.
