This is one of the Mexican food dishes that we like.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds cooked pork roast, cubed
  • 1-101/2 oz can chicken broth
  • 1-16 oz. can tomatoes, cut up
  • 1-8oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2-7 oz cans diced green chilies
  • 1/4 ounce diced hot pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • - filling
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 to 1/2 - onion, diced
  • 1-2 16 oz cans refried beans
  • - topping
  • - grated cheddar cheese
  • - shredded lettuce
  • - tomatoes, chopped
  • - sour cream
  • - white flour tortillas

How To Make green chili burritos

  • Step 1
    For the sauce: Simmer pork in broth 5-10 minutes. Add canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, garlic, green chilies, hot peppers, sugar and salt. Let simmer 45 minutes. Dissolve the 2 tablespoons flour in the 1/4 cup water and add to sauce to thicken slightly.
  • Step 2
    For filling: Brown hamburger and onion;drain grease. Add refried beans and blend together over low heat.
  • Step 3
    Wrap flouor tortillas in foil and warm in oven.
  • Step 4
    To serve:spoon bean and hamburger mixture on warm tortillas.Roll up tortillas and top with pork sauce.
  • Step 5
    Top with cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. Then top with sour cream, if desired
  • Step 6
    Pork chili sauce freezes well.
