Ingredients
- 1 - 12 oz - queso fresco cheese
- 1 medium jalapeno pepper, rinsed
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon adobo seasoning
- 1/4 cup olive oil, light + more for dipping
How To Make fried chile cheese

Step 1Cut cheese round into 8 equal wedges; then cut each wedge lengthwise to, but not through, outer edge.

Step 2Cut jalapeno in 1/2 & remove seeds; finely chop.

Step 3Stuff each cheese wedge with 1/2 tsp jalapeno; then press wedge halves together to close.

Step 4Preheat large saute pan on medium high heat. In a small bowl, combine flour & adobo; mix well. Coat cheese wedges with flour mixture; shaking off excess.

Step 5Add oil to pan. Add wedges; cook 15 - 30 seconds each side or until rich golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve with additional oil for dipping.
