Add to Grocery List

1 lb
cooked prawns (cut in chunks)
2 Tbsp
3/4 c
lemon & lime juice
1 c
chopped red onion
1/2 c
cilantro, fresh
1 tsp
1 large
cucumber peeled & sliced into 1/2
1 large
avocado cut into 1/2

How to Make Civeche

  • 1In a non-reactive casserole dish, either Pyrex or ceramic, place the shrimp, onion, salt and oregano. Cover with lime and lemon juice. Let sit covered in the refrigerator for an hour, then stir, making sure more of the fish gets exposed to the acidic lime and lemon juices. Let sit for several hours, giving time for the flavors to blend.
  • 2Add cucumber & avocado right before serving.
