Tasty Meatloaf with Sweet and Savory Glaze

I like to experiment with different ingredients when making a meatloaf. I settled on this recipe because it makes a really tender meatloaf. I think the glaze is a nice touch of sweet to balance the savory.

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard
  • 6 Tbsp
    tomato paste
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 4
    wasa sourdough crisp crackers, finely crushed
  • 2
    eggs, lightly beaten
  • ·
    salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1/2 c
  • 1 Tbsp
    maple syrup
  • 1/4 c
    red wine

How to Make Tasty Meatloaf with Sweet and Savory Glaze


  1. Work all ingredients into the beef until well combined. Form into a loaf and place in a baking pan. I like to place it on a rack. If using a rack, pour 1/2 cup of water in pan to prevent drippings from burning.
  2. For the glaze, whisk together ingredients and pour over the top of the meatloaf.
  3. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour 15 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
