Another recipe I found in Baba's recipes July 2023. Since we all love meatloaf, I had to keep it!

Ingredients

  • MEATLOAF:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large sweet yellow onion chopped fine
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 cups italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 pounds hamburger
  • 1 pound sausage
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh or dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • SAUCE:
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons dry mustard

How To Make sweet & savory meatloaf

  • Step 1
    Oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8" loaf pan. In skillet over med-high, sauté onions in butter until caramelized, about 10 min. Add garlic, cook 2 min to soften. Set aside to cool.
  • Step 2
    In large bowl, soak breadcrumbs in milk 5 min. Add onion mixture, and remaining. Mix well to combine. Place in greased loaf pan, patting to form a loaf.
  • Step 3
    Make sauce, combine well. Spread over top of meatloaf. Bake 1 hour or till cooked through.
