sweet & savory meatloaf
Another recipe I found in Baba's recipes July 2023. Since we all love meatloaf, I had to keep it!

Ingredients
- MEATLOAF:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 large sweet yellow onion chopped fine
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 2 cups milk
- 2 pounds hamburger
- 1 pound sausage
- 4 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh or dried sage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- SAUCE:
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons dry mustard
How To Make sweet & savory meatloaf

Step 1Oven to 350 degrees. Grease 8" loaf pan. In skillet over med-high, sauté onions in butter until caramelized, about 10 min. Add garlic, cook 2 min to soften. Set aside to cool.

Step 2In large bowl, soak breadcrumbs in milk 5 min. Add onion mixture, and remaining. Mix well to combine. Place in greased loaf pan, patting to form a loaf.

Step 3Make sauce, combine well. Spread over top of meatloaf. Bake 1 hour or till cooked through.
