This is the meatloaf my mother in law made for my husband and his brother when they were young and they loved it. So I asked her for the recipe and was shocked to hear it included oatmeal!

6 unless my hubby is eating, then better double the recipe


  • 1 1/2 lb
    hamburger (she uses half ground beef and half ground pork normally, but has also used all ground turkey too)
  • 3/4 c
    oatmeal, quick or old fashioned, uncooked
  • 3/4 c
    fine chopped onions (she omits, i would want more)
  • 1/2 c
  • 1
    egg, beat lightly
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 clove
    minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp

How to Make Sandy's Meatloaf


  1. 350 degree oven. Mix ingredients together and make into loaf about 6x10 inches. Bake on broiler pan in oven 50-55 minutes or until no longer pink in center and no pink in juices. Stand 5 minutes before cutting.
