meatloaf
I have never gotten into microwave cooking. They're fantastic - vital actually - for reheating. But cooking? Eh. The other night though I had meatloaf on the menu and almost gave up on it because the idea of turning on the oven for an hour was too much to bear! In the end I decided what the heck...how bad can it be? The answer. Amazing! Half the time, a fraction of the heat and possibly better than ever!

4-6 serving(s)
Ingredients
- 1 - egg, slightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons beef soup base (or boullion)
- 1 cup gravy
- 1 1/2 pounds 90% lean ground beef
- 1 cup corn flake crumbs or bread crumbs
How To Make meatloaf
-
Step 1Whip egg, Worcestershire sauce, soup base gravy & pepper together in mixing bowl. NOTE: I had leftover chicken gravy that I used even though it was a "beef" recipe. It was wonderful so dont be afraid to use what you have even if it seems "wrong". How will you ever know what's good, bad or indifferent if you don't experiment?

Step 2Mix in beef and corn flake crumbs
-
Step 3Place in a glass loaf pan.
-
Step 4FOR MICROWAVE: Cover loosely with plastic wrap. Cook @ 70% power for 22 minutes. Uncover and let stand for 5 minutes before serving. FOR THE OVEN: Bake uncovered @ 375° for 40-45 minutes.
