This Recipe is by far the best I've tried. My mom always made the topping with just ketchup and mustard with brown sugar. I added a few more items and it was a hit.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion ' finally diced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 2 torta bread, cubed
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
- 2-3 tablespoons diced red bell pepper
- 2 eggs
- Dash worcestershire sauce
- To Taste salt and pepper
- 1 cup parmesan cheese or parmiggiano/reggiano cheese
- FOR THE TOPPING
- 3/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried mustard
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
How To Make meatloaf

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

Step 2Sautee the onion, red bell pepper and minced garlic in olive oil on medium heat until soft approximately 6 min. Cool Completely.

Step 3Add the cubed bread in a bowl and pour the milk over it. Let sit for a few minutes allowing the bread to soak up the milk.

Step 4In a large bowl combine the beef, milk soaked bread, the cooked onion and garlic, parsley, parmiggiano cheese, worchestershire sauce, eggs, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined not over mixing.

Step 5Place a cooling rack over a baking sheet ( or use a broiler pan) Place the meatloaf onto it and set aside.

Step 6In a small bowl ' mix together all of the ingredients for the topping. Smear half of it over the top and reserve the rest.

Step 7Bake the meatloaf for 50 minutes then smear the rest of the sauce on top and put it back in the overn for another 15 min.
