This tasty Italian meatloaf combines ground beef and pork with onions, garlic, Italian seasoning, Panko breadcrumbs, and fresh basil, all smothered in marinara and melted mozzarella. It is such a nice change from the traditional meatloaf recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup Panko bread crumbs
- 3 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black peppe
- 1 1/4 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
How To Make italian meatloaf

Step 1Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Lightly oil a large baking sheet.

Step 2Combine the ground beef, ground pork, onions, garlic, Italian seasoning, eggs, Panko bread crumbs, half the fresh basil, salt, freshly ground black pepper, and 1/2 cup of marinara sauce in a large bowl.

Step 3Shape the mixture into a loaf on the prepared baking sheet. Spread the remaining marinara over the top. Bake for 50 minutes.

Step 4Remove the meatloaf from the oven and top with the shredded mozzarella and the remaining fresh basil.

Step 5Bake for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese melts and the internal temperature is 160 degrees F.
