Based on Clayton sandwich, I created a recipe of new chicken loaf recipe. It is filled with ingredients of Clayton sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 3 banana peppers, sliced
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 3/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 3 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 ounce packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 cup creamy French dressing, divided
  • 1 cup crumbled pumpernickel bread (about 3 bread slices)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

How To Make clayton chicken loaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Heat margarine in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced banana peppers and saute for 8 minutes, until they are tender. Set aside.
  • Step 3
    Combine ground chicken, bread crumbs, beaten eggs, dry onion soup mix,1/2 cup French dressing, and crumbled pumpernickel bread in a large bowl; mix together until blended.
  • Step 4
    Place chicken mixture down on the piece of wax paper and pat it into a rectangle shape about 10x16 inches.
  • Step 5
    Spread cream cheese on the chicken rectangle, top with sautéed banana peppers, and sprinkle with shredded Monterey Jack cheese.
  • Step 6
    Carefully lift up the short edge of the chicken rectangle with wax paper and gently nudge and roll up. Seal the edges. Place the chicken roll into a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Step 7
    Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes. Take the chicken loaf out of the oven. Spread the remaining French dressing on the loaf.
  • Step 8
    Return to the oven for 25 minutes.Let stand for 5 minutes before slicing.
