vension roast
I have tried to cook a decent deer roast so many times thru the years, but never could cook one that wasn't tough or dried out. Well, this recipe is awesome and I have to say thanks to PJ who proved to me you can cook a great edible deer roast.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients
- 1-2 pound vension roast
- 1 tablespoon kitchen bouquet
- 2 packages lipton onion soup mix
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 medium onion chopped
- 1 stalk celery chopped
- 2 bags small baby carrot
- 10 medium fingerlet potato cut in 1/2 (these are small, you can use whatever )
How To Make vension roast

Step 1Rub roast down with kitchen bouquet and sprinkle 1/2 package of Lipton Onion Soup. You can add your on seasoning if you like at this point.

Step 2Heat 1/4 of stick of butter & add olive oil to melted butter in hot skillet. Sear every side and ends of roast in hot skillet. Deglaze with water or dry red wine.

Step 3In crock pot (turn on low) pour the other 1/2 package of L.O.S.M. in the bottom add roast and liquid from skillet.

Step 4Add chopped onion, celery, carrots, and potato in this order. Add the other package of L.O.S.M., and cover in water. Put lid on and cook for 6 to 8 hours. Serve over rice and hot rolls, what a nice dinner to come home to after work.
