You can use Panko breadcrumbs instead of tempura batter or use nothing and bake the venison balls. Dish is still tasty any way you make them. Great Asian flavors. Sweet spicy sauce on a bed of pickled carrots. Yum

Ingredients

  • VENISON BALLS
  • 1 pound venison meat chopped small
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 - inch piece ginger minced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic chili sauce
  • SWEET CHILI SAUCE
  • 3/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons plum sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon each minced garlic, minced ginger, and red jalapeno
  • - fresh cilantro chopped for garnish
  • TEMPURA
  • 1 cup tempura batter
  • 3/4 cup cold water
  • - oil for frying
  • CARROT SLAW
  • 2 large carrots julienned
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

How To Make tempura fried venison balls w sweet chili sauce

  • Step 1
    Venison Balls Place the venison meat, garlic, and ginger in food processor. Blend into a paste. Add the remaining ingredients and refrigerate for 1 hour.

    Carrot Slaw Place rice vinegar and sugar in a bowl. Place the julienned carrots in the bowl and refrigerate until ready to plate
