Another one my husband made up. (He's amazing!) This has a sweetness to it that compliments the turkey very well! You can change the amounts of the hot sauce, red pepper flakes or chili sauce to suit your heat preference. And don't let the list of ingredients intimidate you. It really is an easy recipe!

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

4-5 clove
garlic, chopped fine
green pepper, chopped
1-2 stalk(s)
celery, chopped
1 large
onion, chopped
2 lb
ground turkey
2 Tbsp
2 can(s)
diced tomatoes
3 Tbsp
chili sauce
1/2 tsp
hot sauce
1/2 tsp
red pepper flakes
1 can(s)
baked beans (we used bourbon & brown sugar, since we had that on hand)
1 can(s)
whole kernel corn
3-4 Tbsp
chili powder
1 Tbsp
ground cumin
2 tsp
brown sugar
1 tsp
1 tsp
1/2 tsp
1/2 tsp
1 pinch
ground cloves

How to Make Turkey Chili Coronado


  • 1Heat oil in the slow cooker over medium-high heat. Add garlic, chopped pepper, celery and onion. Saute until the vegetables soften (about 5 mins).
  • 2Add ground turkey and saute until no longer pink, breaking up the meat with the back of a spoon (about 7 minutes).
  • 3Sprinkle flour over and stir to blend.
  • 4Add remaining ingredients. Stir to combine. Continue to cook in slow cooker for 1-2 hours.
  • 5Serve over rice, or with a hearty crusty bread.
