seared ahi tuna with mojo my way

Mojo is a wonderful Cuban marinade/sauce mix. It has some tart and sweet tones to it and makes a flavorful sauce. I added my favorite chicken bouillon to amp up the flavor even more.

Ingredients

  • 2 - ahi tuna filets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 package knorr's home-style chicken bouillon or 1 tbsp. butter than bouillon chicken bouillon
  • - mojo
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup lime juice
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

How To Make seared ahi tuna with mojo my way

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients for mojo together and marinate the tuna fillets for 6 hours
  • Step 2
    Remove the tuna from the marinade reserving the marinade.
  • Step 3
    Add olive oil and butter to hot pan over med high heat. Sear the tuna on both side.
  • Step 4
    Reduce heat to medium and pour in the marinade. Add chicken bouillon. Mix well and baste tuna with sauce.
  • Step 5
    cook until desired doneness of tuna. I like mine rare. Remove tuna and continue to cook the sauce until reduced to desired thickness. Serve sauce over tuna.
