crab and rice primavera

This recipe was given to me by a friend and as usual I always tweak a few things. The original recipe called for shrimp, but I prefer using imitation crabmeat due to allergy to shellfish. And even then I use gloves to prepare this. Not taking chances. LOL Anyway, this recipe is very easy and quick to make. If you don't have a lot of time in the kitchen try this recipe on.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups birds eye farm fresh broccoli, green beans, pearl onions and red peppers
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 3/4 pound imitation crabmeat or seafood of your choice
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 1/2 cups original minute rice
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

How To Make crab and rice primavera

  • Step 1
    Bring vegetables and water to boil in medium saucepan, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 3 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Add milk, crabmeat, margarine, garlic powder and basil. Bring to a boil. Stir in rice and cheese.
  • Step 3
    Cover; remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork.
