How to Make Traditional Tomato Pie
- Preheat oven to 300°F
- Slice tomatoes and let drain for 30 minutes on a paper towel.
- Bake prepared pie shell for 10 minutes; meanwhile slice onions and sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Sprinkle the drained tomatoes with salt and pepper, too
- Mix grated cheddar and mayonnaise.
- Layer sliced tomatoes and onions in pre-cooked pie shell, top with cheddar-mayonnaise mix, sprinkle with dill weed.
- Bake at 300°F for 50 minutes
