mayonnaise
dill weed

How to Make Traditional Tomato Pie

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 300°F
  • 2Slice tomatoes and let drain for 30 minutes on a paper towel.
  • 3Bake prepared pie shell for 10 minutes; meanwhile slice onions and sprinkle with salt and pepper
  • 4Sprinkle the drained tomatoes with salt and pepper, too
  • 5Mix grated cheddar and mayonnaise.
  • 6Layer sliced tomatoes and onions in pre-cooked pie shell, top with cheddar-mayonnaise mix, sprinkle with dill weed.
  • 7Bake at 300°F for 50 minutes
