    prepared deep dish pie shell
  • 3
    medium tomatoes

    medium onions

    grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 c
  • ·
    dill weed

How to Make Traditional Tomato Pie


  1. Preheat oven to 300°F
  2. Slice tomatoes and let drain for 30 minutes on a paper towel.
  3. Bake prepared pie shell for 10 minutes; meanwhile slice onions and sprinkle with salt and pepper
  4. Sprinkle the drained tomatoes with salt and pepper, too
  5. Mix grated cheddar and mayonnaise.
  6. Layer sliced tomatoes and onions in pre-cooked pie shell, top with cheddar-mayonnaise mix, sprinkle with dill weed.
  7. Bake at 300°F for 50 minutes
