Ingredients
- - 1 sm. or 1/2 lg bag frozen italian meatballs
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cans 15 oz tomato sauce(i like hunts)
- 1 can 8 oz tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic, more if you like
- 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
- - crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
- - dash of olive oil
- - shredded mozzarella or italian blend cheese
- - sub rolls
How To Make meatball subs
-
Step 1Microwave meatballs for 6 min.
-
Step 2In a good sized pot, saute dash of olive oil, garlic, & spices over medium high heat for 1-2 minutes( just until you get the nice aroma). Add diced onion, cook until transparent.
-
Step 3Add tomato sauce & paste, stir until well blended. Reduce heat. Add meatballs. (You can start putting subs together now, but I like the sauce to simmer for a bit if I have time.)
-
Step 4For ease of cleanup, line a large baking sheet with foil. Open your rolls and sprinkle cheese to your liking.(This keeps meatballs from going through the bread.) Add meatballs & sauce. Top with more cheese.
-
Step 5Bake at 350 until cheese melts. 7-10 min.
