Ingredients

  • 1/3 c
    onion, chopped finely
  • 1/3 c
    celery, chopped finely
  • 1/2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable shortening or oil
  • 1-10.5 oz can(s)
    tomato soup, condensed
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    lemon juice (can use vinegar)
  • 2 Tbsp
    yellow mustard
  • 4
    drops hot pepper sauce (optional)
  • 1 lb
    hot dogs

How to Make Festive Franks

Step-by-Step

  1. In heavy skillet, brown onion, celery and garlic in shortening or oil.
  2. Stir in rest of ingredients, except hot dogs. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Add hot dogs. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
