Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup onion, chopped finely
  • 1/3 cup celery, chopped finely
  • 1/2 clove garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable shortening or oil
  • 1-10.5 oz can tomato soup, condensed
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (can use vinegar)
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 4 - drops hot pepper sauce (optional)
  • 1 pound hot dogs

How To Make festive franks

  • Step 1
    In heavy skillet, brown onion, celery and garlic in shortening or oil.
  • Step 2
    Stir in rest of ingredients, except hot dogs. Simmer 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add hot dogs. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
