How to Make CUBANO SANDWICH (KENTUCKY STYLE)

Step-by-Step

  1. (Note: I use a George Foreman grill, but you may use a grill pan or skillet.)
  2. Preheat grill or pan on medium to medium-high setting.
  3. Spread or drizzle mustard on 1 slice bread.
  4. Layer on top, 1 slice swiss cheese, 2 slices ham, dill pickle slices and the pork.
  5. Sprinkle pork with salt and pepper.
  6. Place remaining slice of swiss cheese and slice of bread on top.
  7. Evenly spread top with 1/2 the butter.
  8. Place buttered side down on grill or pan.
  9. Butter top of bread, close lid and firmly press down.
  10. Flip and rotate sandwich 1/2 turn after 1 1/2 to 2 minutes; grill an additional 1 1/2 to minutes, until golden brown and cheese is melted (watch carefully so as not to burn.)
