Cinnamon-Apple & Muenster sandwich
2 csliced peeled tart apple
2/3 cchopped walnuts
6 Tbspcream cheese
2 tsppowdered sugar
1/2 tspground cinnamon
8 sliceraisin bread
4 slicemuenster cheese
How to Make Cinnamon-Apple & Muenster sandwich
- In a large skillet, saute apple slices in 1 teaspoon butter until tender. Meanwhile, in a small skillet, cook and stir the walnuts over medium heat for 2 minutes or until lightly toasted.
- In a small bowl, beat the cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, honey and cinnamon until smooth. Stir in walnut mixture. Butter 4 slices of bread and place buttered side down in a buttered, hot skillet. Spread the slices of bread with the cream cheese mixture; layer with Muenster cheese and apple slices. Butter one side of the remaining bread slices and place on top, butter on the outside.
- Toast sandwiches for 1-2 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
