  • 1 pkg
    powdered onion soup mix
  • 2 can
    condensed mushroom soup (10.5 oz each)
  • 1 can
    sliced mushrooms (8 oz)
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 c
    liquid (beef broth, red wine, water, or a combination)
  • 2-4 lb
    beef roast (a cheaper cut like chuck or sirloin)
  • salt and pepper, to taste

  • Combining soups and liquid in a large measuring cup.

    In a large bowl, combine the onion soup mix, mushroom soup, undrained mushrooms, and garlic powder. Whisk in the liquid.
  • Roast, trimmed of fat, placed in a Crock Pot.

    Trim any excess fat and bones from the roast. Place the meat into the bottom of a slow cooker.
  • Pouring soup mixture over the meat.

    Pour the soup mixture over the meat.
  • Letting the meat cook in the Crock Pot.

    Cover and set the cooker to High. Cook for 6-8 hours until the meat falls apart. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Pot roast served over butter noodles with gravy on the side.

    Serve over mashed potatoes or buttered noodles with a veggie on the side.

    ALTERNATE COOKING METHOD: If you don't want to wait for the Crock Pot, follow all the same steps but use a covered casserole or foil covered metal pan. Roast in the oven at 325 degrees F for 2.5 to 3 hours.
