Slow Cooker Crock Pot


  • 2-4 lb
    beef chuck pot roast
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 3
    carrots, sliced
  • 3
    potatoes, quartered
  • 3
    onions, sliced
  • 2 stalk(s)
    celery, sliced
  • 1 c
    sliced mushrooms
  • 1 c
    beef broth or wine

How to Make Crock-Pot Pot Roast


  1. Season the roast with salt and pepper, then coat on all sides with flour. Sear in a hot skillet to brown the outsides.
  2. Place all the vegetables in the bottom of the crock-pot, except the mushrooms. Add the roast, then spread the mushrooms out on top. Pour in the liquid.
  3. Place the cover on the crock-pot and cook until the meat is tender, 10-12 hours on low, or 6-8 hours on high.
