This is the recipe that came with my crock-pot.

Ingredients

  • 2-4 pounds beef chuck pot roast
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 3 - carrots, sliced
  • 3 - potatoes, quartered
  • 3 - onions, sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup beef broth or wine

How To Make crock-pot pot roast

  • Step 1
    Season the roast with salt and pepper, then coat on all sides with flour. Sear in a hot skillet to brown the outsides.
  • Step 2
    Place all the vegetables in the bottom of the crock-pot, except the mushrooms. Add the roast, then spread the mushrooms out on top. Pour in the liquid.
  • Step 3
    Place the cover on the crock-pot and cook until the meat is tender, 10-12 hours on low, or 6-8 hours on high.
