This recipe is an old school favorite of mine, that our cafeteria served. I was lucky enough to get the recipe from my best friends mother who worked in the cafeteria...been enjoying them ever since. My kids just love this recipe...makes a great appetizer and can easily make a double recipe, for parties.. I hope you try them sometime... Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup minced onion
  • 1 pound kielbasa - sliced
  • 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 4 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar or favorite

How To Make zesty bbq kielbasa

  • Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degree F. In a small to medium skillet, brown onions in butter.
  • Step 2
In a small bowl, whisk all other ingredient, except kielbasa. Add mixture to skillet, mix with onion and simmer a few minutes.
  • Step 3
In a small casserole dish, spread Kielbasa slices.
  • Step 4
Pour sauce over Kielbasa and toss to coat. Note: You could probably use 2 pounds of sausage with the amount of sauce, we just like ours saucier. Any less sauce with a pound of kielbasa is too dry for our tastes.
  • Step 5
Bake for 20 - 25 minutes, or until good and bubbly. I then place under broiler to caramelize a few minutes. Just my preference. Serve with toothpicks. Enjoy!
