A favorite meal we've had in my family for as long as I can remember. Country food at it's finest.

How to Make ~ Sour Cream & Onion Chops ~

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

Season chops and brown on both sides in oil, in a large skillet.
  • 2Remove chops and place in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • 3In the skillet you browned the chops in, whisk in the flour and cook for 1 minute. If not enough fat add a little more. Now, add the soup mix and water. Whisk so as not to have lumps. Cook until thickening some.
  • 4Pour onion mixture over the chops. Cover with foil and bake for 30 - 35 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 30 - 35 minutes or until chops are tender.
  • 5Remove chops to serving plate. To the gravy in the pan whisk in the sour cream, until smooth.
  • 6Serve the gravy over the chops. I also make mashed potatoes. It's delicious served over them as well.
