rainn's pork broth for soups/stews

I have always had difficulty in seasoning pork for a soup base, however I discovered this by accident and honestly it is the best pork based stock I have ever made. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Ingredients

  • 2 - carrots, peeled and cut into 2" sticks
  • 1 - onion, medium and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • - left over pork roast with bone
  • - sea salt and pepper to taste

How To Make rainn's pork broth for soups/stews

  • Step 1
    Add pork bone and left over meat to a 6 qt stockpot and fill with water.
  • Step 2
    add all ingredients to the pot and bring to a boil
  • Step 3
    continue to boil for about 10 minutes, then turn down to a simmer
  • Step 4
    continue to simmer until meat can easily be removed from the bone.
  • Step 5
    remove from heat and let cool until you can handle the meat easily.
  • Step 6
    cut meat into bite size pieces and return to the stock (broth)
  • Step 7
    let cool and then add to freezer containers for storage of add other desired ingredients to finish for soup or stew.
