I use a pressure cooker and the pork is so tender and the sauce is great.

Ingredients

  • 5 cloves garlic smashed and finely chopped
  • 2 - inch piece ginger grated
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup oyster sauce
  • 1 large orange juiced and zested
  • 3 - star anise
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons garlic chili paste
  • 5 pounds pork roast

How To Make hawaiian pork roast

  • Step 1
    Mix all ingredients together and marinade for 24 to 48 hours.
  • Step 2
    Remove pork from marinade. Pour marinade into a saucepan and reduce until thickened about 15 minutes.

    Place pork in roasting pan with a rack. Pour 1 cup water in bottom of roaster. Brush sauce all over pork. Roast pork at 350 degrees. basting with sauce every 15 minutes for 1 and 1/2 hours. Serve with sauce over top.
