I got this recipe from my sister-in-law back in the mid 70's. Still good and you can freeze for up to 2 months and cook on a busy night.

prep time 20 Min
cook time 2 Hr
method Bake
yield 4-6 (makes 2 1 1/2 quart casseroles)

Ingredients

  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 jar (8 oz) processed cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup onion
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 packages (10 oz) frozen chopped broccoli
  • 4 cups diced cooked ham
  • 2 cups uncooked instant rice
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce

How To Make ham and broccoli bake

  • Step 1
Combine soup, cheese spread and milk. Heat over low heat until cheese is melted into mix.
  • Step 2
Cook onion in butter until tender. Cook broccoli per package directions. Drain well. Add onion, broccoli, ham, rice and Worcestershire sauce to soup mixture.
  • Step 3
Turn into two 1 1/2 quart casseroles. Freeze up to 2 months. To bake from freezer, bake covered with foil at 400 for 1 1/2 hours. Uncover and bake 30 minutes more.
  • Step 4
From unfrozen state, cook at 350 for 45 minutes. Cover with foil for first 30 minutes, then uncover and cook for 15 minutes. (or until rice is tender)
