crispy southern fried pork chops
Another favorite of my family that dates back to my grandmother. These chops turn out crispy and delicious. I serve them with mashed potatoes, a veggie, and sawmill gravy. A great comfort meal any time! This recipe is very similar to my Crispy Southern Fried Chicken recipe. I found that it works very well with pork chops, too. Hope you enjoy these chops as much as we do.
Blue Ribbon Recipe
We loved these old-fashioned fried pork chops. Flattening the boneless pork chops allows them to cook quickly and not dry out. Adding the chicken base to the light batter adds a savory flavor to the coating. Once fried, the coating is crispy, and the meat is juicy. Serve with your favorite sides for an easy weeknight meal.

How To Make crispy southern fried pork chops
-
Step 1Place pork chops on a cutting board. Using a meat mallet, pound both sides.
-
Step 2In one bowl, add egg and milk. Mix with a fork until smooth.
-
Step 3In another bowl, add flour, chicken-flavored base, and seasonings. Mix well. The chicken-flavored base is available in most grocery stores in the soup/bouillon aisle.
-
Step 4Dredge pork chops in flour mixture. Then dip in milk and egg mixture.
-
Step 5Roll in flour mixture.
-
Step 6Heat about 1" oil in a heavy skillet (I use a cast iron chicken fryer). When oil is hot, add pork chops, no more than 2 to 3 at a time. Fry for about 3 to 5 minutes per side until golden and juices run clear. Remove to a serving platter. Repeat with the remaining pork chops.
-
Step 7Serve hot with your favorite side dishes.
