Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried dill weed
  • 1 teaspoon chicken buillon paste, cube or chrystals
  • 1 1/2 - 2 teaspoons dijon mustard
  • 1 - 14 ounces wide egg noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup thin sliced carrots
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ham, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon each, cracked black pepper & kosher salt
  • 1 - 10 ounces bag, frozn peas - thawed
  • 2 ounces softened cream cheese - cubed
  • 3/4 - 1 cups shredded, swiss cheese

How To Make creamy ham - swiss - noodle skillet

  • Step 1
In a large bowl, add flour and just enough milk to make smooth paste.
  • Step 2
Whisk into the paste the rest of the milk, mustard, dill, buillon and set aside. Have noodles prepared and set aside.
  • Step 3
In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add the carrots, garlic and ham cubes. Cook until carrots are crisp tender and ham is starting to caramelize.
  • Step 4
Add the milk mixture to the skillet and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until it thicken. It won't be a real thick sauce, but should coat the back of a spoon somewhat. Add the cream cheese and stir until melted. Sir in salt & pepper. Stir in the noodles, peas and cheese & heat through.
  • Step 5
Serve immediately - salt & pepper to taste. Would be great served with just a tossed salad.
