In the picture we used country style beef ribs. This sauce goes particularly well with beef, but great on pork as well! I think it would be good on most any red meat or pork.

Ingredients

  • 2
    slabs back ribs
  • 2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • ·
    salt to taste
  • ·
    black pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbsp
    prepared mustard (i like to use honey mustard)
  • 1/2 c
    minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    lemon juice
  • 1/4 c
    steak sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder

How to Make Chili Barbecued Ribs

Step-by-Step

  1. Cut ribs into serving size pieces.
  2. Add ribs to Dutch oven and cover with water.
  3. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1/2 hour. Drain well. (Instead I wrap them tightly in foil and slow roast them in a 320 degree oven for 2-3 hours.)
  4. Sprinkle ribs with garlic powder, salt and pepper, then baste with mustard.
  5. Saute minced onion in a sauce pan. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 5 minutes.
  6. Grill ribs 5 inches from heat for 30 minutes.
  7. Brush ribs with sauce in the last 5-10 minutes of cooking.
