I was just looking for something to do with the seafood I had in my freezer, I found a bag of tortellini in there too and we were in business. Just kinda made this one up from stuff I had in the kitchen one day. We decided it was worth making again.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 15 Min
method Stove Top
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen cheese tortellini, cooked & drained
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 package imitation crabmeat
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1/2 cup frozen english peas
  • 2 cups colby jack blended shredded cheese

How To Make seafood and tortellini in cream sauce

  • Step 1
Cook tortellini according to package directions, drain and set aside. Meanwhile, melt half of the butter in pan and cook shrimp and diced onion, just until onions are tender and shrimp is pink. Remove shrimp & onions to a warm plate, reserving pan drippings.
  • Step 2
Add more butter to pan, melt and add flour whisking until well blended with butter. Gradually pour in milk, whisking constantly. Add parmesan cheese, salt & pepper. Stir over medium heat until thick and bubbly.
  • Step 3
Combine all ingredients in a pan except the colby-jack cheese. Mix thoroughly.
  • Step 4
Sprinkle with colby jack and heat just until the cheese is melted. Serve with crusty garlic bread.
