It doesn't get much quicker or simple than this when it comes to getting dinner on the table fast. This is a family favorite and is perfect when you want a light meal that is full of flavor and filling.

Ingredients

  • 1-16 oz box
    penne pasta
  • 2-15 oz can(s)
    tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c
    vodka
  • 1 c
    heavy cream
  • 1/2 c
    grated pecorino romano or parmesan cheese
  • ·
    salt and coarsely ground black pepper to taste

How to Make Penne with Creamy Vodka Sauce

Step-by-Step

  1. Cook the penne according to the package directions, drain and keep warm.
  2. Combine the tomato sauce and vodka in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Decrease the heat to low and stir in the cream. Simmer for 1 minute to heat through.
  4. Add the cooked penne and the cheese and cook for 1 minute to heat through. Remove from the heat and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
