It doesn't get much quicker or simple than this when it comes to getting dinner on the table fast. This is a family favorite and is perfect when you want a light meal that is full of flavor and filling.

Ingredients

  • 1-16 oz box penne pasta
  • 2-15 oz cans tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup vodka
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated pecorino romano or parmesan cheese
  • - salt and coarsely ground black pepper to taste

How To Make penne with creamy vodka sauce

  • Step 1
    Cook the penne according to the package directions, drain and keep warm.
  • Step 2
    Combine the tomato sauce and vodka in a large saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Decrease the heat to low and stir in the cream. Simmer for 1 minute to heat through.
  • Step 4
    Add the cooked penne and the cheese and cook for 1 minute to heat through. Remove from the heat and season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
