1/2 lbground turkey
1/2 lbground beef (97% lean)
1 largeonion, diced
1/2 mediumbell pepper, diced [optional]
1/2 tspred pepper flakes [optional]
1 Tbspsugar or substitute
1/2 tspsalt [or to taste]
2 can(s)condenced tomato soup
1 can(s)stewed tomatoes, diced
1 can(s)tomato sauce
4 ozelbow macaroni
How to Make Mom's Goulash
- Brown meat in large skillet over medium heat with 2-4 tablespoons butter or margerine, diced onion & bell pepper.
- Add red pepper flakes, sugar and salt; stir and continue to cook until onion is tender and meat is browned.
- Add remaining ingredients, except macaroni; cover and allow to simmer over medium-low heat.
- Cook pasta according to package directions; drain well. Add to sauce & mix well. Serve with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
