mom's goulash
I have updated this a bit. As I was growing up this was very economical for our struggling little family. You can add or subtract as your personal taste dictates, but I would try it this way first, and then adjust the next batch.

Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground turkey
- 1/2 pound ground beef (97% lean)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1/2 medium bell pepper, diced [optional]
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes [optional]
- 1 tablespoon sugar or substitute
- 1/2 teaspoon salt [or to taste]
- 2 cans condenced tomato soup
- 1 can stewed tomatoes, diced
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 2-4 tablespoons butter/margerine
- 4 ounces elbow macaroni
How To Make mom's goulash

Step 1Brown meat in large skillet over medium heat with 2-4 tablespoons butter or margerine, diced onion & bell pepper.

Step 2Add red pepper flakes, sugar and salt; stir and continue to cook until onion is tender and meat is browned.

Step 3Add remaining ingredients, except macaroni; cover and allow to simmer over medium-low heat.

Step 4Cook pasta according to package directions; drain well. Add to sauce & mix well. Serve with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese.
