Both of my kids LOVE fettuccine alfredo. Homemade alfredo sauce is fairly quick and easy. It certainly tastes TONS better than anything canned or jarred! Add cooked chicken, if you like.

Ingredients
- 1 stick unsalted butter
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 1 dash salt
- 1 dash pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1 1/2 cups low sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup light or heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg yolk, beaten
- 1 pound cooked fettuccine
How To Make mom's fettuccine alfredo

Step 1Melt butter; add flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Continue heating on low flame, adding chicken broth, light cream, beaten egg yolk and parsley flakes. After sauce starts to thicken, add Parmesan cheese. Keep stirring on low heat for 3 minutes. Remove from heat; pour over fettuccine. Makes 6 servings.
