This a recipe for hamburger stroganoff that Mom made all the time. We grew up on it and it's a family favorite.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup minced onion
- 1/4 cup butter or margarine
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 can can cream of chicken soup (or cr. of mushroom)
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 8 ounces can sliced mushrooms, drained (optional)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 package egg noodles, cooked and drained
How To Make mavis' hamburger stroganoff

Step 1Start to cook egg noodles and while they're cooking, you can begin to prepare the stroganoff. Saute onion and garlic in butter over medium heat. Stir in ground beef and brown. Drain lightly.

Step 2Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and mushrooms. Cook 5 minutes. Stir in soup. Simmer uncovered 10 minutes.

Step 3Stir in sour cream. Heat through. Serve over cooked egg noodles.
