This is a tasty dish that you can enjoy with a happy heart. Personally I prefer whole baby clams to the ask for chopped ones.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound package linguine
  • 2 tablespoons light margarine
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves chopped garlic
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cans (6 1/2 ounces each) chopped clams with juice
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

How To Make lighten up linguine with clams

  • Step 1
    Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until done to taste; drain.
  • Step 2
    Melt margarine along with the olive oil in large skillet over medium heat. Saute garlic and mushrooms until golden brown.
  • Step 3
    Stir in clams with juice, parsley, basil, salt and white pepper. Cook over medium heat until hot.
  • Step 4
    Toss with pasta until evenly coated. Serve garnished with Parmesan cheese.
