Lighten up Linguine With Clams

This is a tasty dish that you can enjoy with a happy heart. Personally I prefer whole baby clams to the ask for chopped ones.

1 lb
package linguine
2 Tbsp
light margarine
1/4 c
olive oil
3 clove
chopped garlic
1 lb
fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 can(s)
(6 1/2 ounces each) chopped clams with juice
1/2 c
chopped fresh parsley
1 tsp
chopped fresh basil
1/2 tsp
white pepper
1/4 c
grated parmesan cheese


1Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.

Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until done to taste; drain.
2Melt margarine along with the olive oil in large skillet over medium heat.

Saute garlic and mushrooms until golden brown.
3Stir in clams with juice, parsley, basil, salt and white pepper.

Cook over medium heat until hot.
4Toss with pasta until evenly coated.

Serve garnished with Parmesan cheese.
