creamy white clam sauce

This is a quick dish to make and very tasty. My family loves it and you will too!

Ingredients

  • - 1 lb. box linguine
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons avocado or other oil
  • 1 - rounded tsp. garlic powder (or to taste)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 - 14.5 oz. can chicken broth
  • 1 cup claim juice
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2/3 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2 or 3 - 6.5 oz. cans minced clams (depending on how much you like clams)

How To Make creamy white clam sauce

  • Step 1
    Heat oil and butter in a skillet. Saute onions and clams, adding the garlic powder, oregano, salt, pepper, and cayenne. Cook onions until tender.
  • Step 2
    Add the flour and mix well, heating the flour for about 30 seconds to get rid of its taste. Pour in chicken broth, clam juice, and cream. Bring to a simmer and add Parmesan cheese. Simmer and stir until cheese is melted.
  • Step 3
    Served over cooked pasta. (Make sure to salt the cooking water for the pasta well.)
