my aunt made this all the time I think she added a little chili powder to hers and I have done that too, but with enough paprika you don't need the chili powder. I added the siracha (sorry I don't know how to spell it) which adds a nice heat to the goulash. I also added the Worcestershire sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger meat
  • 1/2 - onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 cans (5-6 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon siracha (sp)
  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • - salt and pepper
  • 1 package bow tie pasta. regular sized

How To Make american goulash

  • Step 1
    Prepare pasta according to directions
  • Step 2
    Brown hamburger meat along with the onion and garlic. add in the Worcestershire sauce, paprika and siracha cook for about a minute. pour in the two small cans of tomato sauce and the cup of ketchup then add a couple cans of water.
  • Step 3
    Let simmer until the onions are done and add the drained pasta to the sauce. Mix well and serve with english peas, bread and butter.
