spinach and sausage deep dish pie

Last time I made this it barely lasted a day! Everyone loved it so I made it again. Last time I used pepperoni but this time I tried italian sausage.Both are delicious.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound italian sausage,cooked
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 package frozen spinach
  • 1 can sliced black olives
  • 2 cups shredded provolone, mozzarella or other cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper, each
  • 2 pounds pizza dough

How To Make spinach and sausage deep dish pie

  • Step 1
    Separate dough into two pound balls.Knead and stretch one to fit into a deep dish pie plate.Spray the bottom of plate with Pam or oil with a paper towel.Steam the spinach in a microwave with 3 tablespoons of water for 3 minutes.Squeeze it the best you can and add chopped olives, garlic powder and tablespoon of olive oil.Salt and pepper to taste. Mix with cooked sausage that has been cut into pieces or cooked loose. Add 1/4 cup tomato sauce and cheese and mix well.Fill the dough lined pie plate and cover with second ball of dough that has been kneaded to fit the top of the pie. Crimp the edges together. Season top with a bit of oil and garlic powder. Bake for one hour at 350 degrees.
