nor's sausage cheddar zucchini quiche

I love sausage. I thought to combine some flavors that are outstanding together. This is a savory Quiche with Sausage,onion,Zucchini, sun dried tomatoes and Cheddar cheese. It has a little kick of heat. Hope you all enjoy my creation.

Ingredients

  • 1 - small zucchini cut length wise and sliced
  • 1 - medium vahdalia or other onion
  • 4-6 - sun dried tomatoes packed in olive oil,or soaked in water if dried
  • 4-5 - 4-5 links chicken sausage, ot sweet italian sausage ( i use premio)
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 1/2 cups sharp shredded cheddar cheese
  • 3 - eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 1 dash salt
  • 1 - deep dish frozen pie crust baked for 10 minutes

How To Make nor's sausage cheddar zucchini quiche

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 400 degree's F Cook sausage on baking sheet until cooked through. Remove from oven to cool,and slice and chop sausage in to chunks,and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Place pie crust in oven. Make sure you poke holes in bottom of crust first. Bake pie shell for 10 minutes,and remove from oven.
  • Step 3
    Cook onion with olive oil for about 5-10 minutes. Add the chopped sun dried tomatoes. Season with the basil,Garlic salt,Thyme,and crushed red pepper saute for 5 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Add the chopped Zucchini and cook for about 5 minutes,and add sausage. Saute to make flavors blend.Remove from heat.
  • Step 5
    In a bowl whisk the eggs and cream together well. Mix in some salt and pepper. Add the cheese to the sausage mixture to combine. Put sausage mixture in baked pie shell. Pour the egg cream mixture evenly over all ingredients in shell.( if some cream egg mixture won't fit in shell. Just discard it.Fill as much as you can)
  • Step 6
    Bake at 400 degree's for 40 minutes. Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes before slicing.
