A great southern combination!!

Of course, I use HOT sausage but, you can use mild.

    1 cup uncooked grits
  • ·
    4 cups water
  • ·
    1 box jiffy cornbread mix
  • ·
    1 cup milk
  • ·
    1 lb. jimmy dean bulk sausage
  • ·
    1 cup shredded cheese
  • ·
    1 stick butter
  • ·
    4 eggs
  • ·
    1 teaspoon salt

How to Make Sausage Grits Casserole


  1. In large saucepan, boil 4 cups water, add uncooked grits and add 1 teaspoon salt, turn off heat and stir well, to prevent lumps. Add butter, stir in.
    Let cool.
  2. Saute sausage and drain.
  3. In a bowl, beat eggs with milk, add all together with grits, cheese and cornbread mix, stir well. Put into 9x13 casserole dish.
  4. Bake @ 425 for 30 minutes.
