Sausage Grits Casserole

A great southern combination!!

Of course, I use HOT sausage but, you can use mild.

1 cup uncooked grits
4 cups water
1 box jiffy cornbread mix
1 cup milk
1 lb. jimmy dean bulk sausage
1 cup shredded cheese
1 stick butter
4 eggs
1 teaspoon salt


1In large saucepan, boil 4 cups water, add uncooked grits and add 1 teaspoon salt, turn off heat and stir well, to prevent lumps. Add butter, stir in.
Let cool.
2Saute sausage and drain.
3In a bowl, beat eggs with milk, add all together with grits, cheese and cornbread mix, stir well. Put into 9x13 casserole dish.
4Bake @ 425 for 30 minutes.
