This is my fellow kitchen katerer's recipe.Ed loves to barbecue just about anything.He says these are delicious,he uses the same marinade for lamb chops as well.

2 1/2 lbs meaty lamb shanks
1 t. salt


1 c tomato juice
1/2 c lemon juice
1/2 c dill pickle juice
1 large onion,finely chopped
1 t. coarse cracked black pepper
1 t. cumin
1 t. marjoram
1 t. salt

How to Make Ed's Barbecue Lamb Shanks


  • 1Place shanks in a deep bowl.Combine marinade ingredients.Let stand 4 hours.Salt meat.Grill over slow coals,brushing with marinade and turning occasionally,about 1 hour or till tender.Don't overcook.
